Sweet potato chips recipe- the healthy way! | How to make baked sweet potato French fries

Although these tubers are not very good-looking, these roots pack a punch… full of Vitamin A & C, they are your skins best friend.

Not to mention the calcium, potassium and beta carotene that they contain, they are nutritionally the best vegetable.

Potato chips?   Nah.. think again!


  • Sweet potato- 2
  • Chilli powder- 1/4 tsp
  • Olive oil- 1 tbsp
  • Salt- 1/4 tsp
  • Mixed dried herbs - 1 tsp ( basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme )
  • Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp


Step 1

Preheat the oven to 200 C . Line a baking tray.

Step 2

Peel and cut the sweet potato into fingers.

Step 3

Put the rest of the ingredients onto the fingers and mix well. Ensure that all the potatoes are covered.

Step 4

Pour onto the prepared baking tray and spread evenly in one layer , so that each chip is separate.

Step 5

Bake for 15- 20 minutes.

Step 6

Best enjoyed hot!
