Turkey mince is the leanest mince you can find, your best go-to if you are on a diet. Add some spices, some cheese and you would be in food heaven.
Leftovers if any, can be freezed.
I always make a lot and freeze them. They make for a very quick meal with pasta, with some sauce and roasted vegetables or just by themselves.
Try them, they are good- you have my word for it.
Ingredients
- Turkey Mince- 800 gm
- Grated cheese- 1/2 cup, cheddar or red leicester
- Eggs- 2
- Sweet smoked paprika/ Chilli flakes - 1 tsp
- Oregano- 1 tsp
- Tarragon- 1 tsp
- Thyme- 1 tsp
- Cornflour 1 tbsp- optional
- Salt- to taste
Method
In a bowl, put some turkey mince. Grate cheese.
Add the cheese to the mince and add the eggs. Mix well.
Add in the spices and mix well.
With wet hands, shape into balls. I made 53 1- inch balls 🙂
If making straightaway, leave in the fridge for 30 minutes, before baking or frying.
If freezing, place on an oiled plate.
I made several for the freezer. So I put a cling film on top, froze them and them packed them up for another day.
These are the frozen meatballs from my freezer after a couple of days.
Put them on a lined baking tray and bake at 150C for 15 minutes.
You could also shallow fry them. It is entirely upto you.
We had them with some of this delicious homemade pasta sauce and some garlic bread.
