The simplest of all raitas, onion raita is the best complement to any spicy, specially non-vegetarian curry.

Most raitas, just have a pinch of salt in them, but the real star of this recipe is black salt.

Black salt is extremely handy to have in the house and can be sprinkled on any chaat, salad or fruit to spike up the taste.

The best thing is that it can be made in a flash.

  • Onion, finely sliced/ chopped- 1/4 cup
  • Yoghurt- 1/2 cup
  • Black salt- 1 pinch


Step 1

Chop the onion into thin slices or dice as per your preference.

Step 2

Whisk the yoghurt till smooth.

Step 3

Add in the onion and black salt. Mix well.



Best served cold.
