Indian salads always form part of the meal. They are usually never eaten as a meal on their own, but rather as an accompaniment to the main meal. This simple salad is very popular in Maharashtra and is most commonly made on Sundays to accompany the meat based curries.
Try it- its simple.
Ingredients
- Onion - 1/4 finely chopped- 1/3 cup
- Tomato- 1/2 cup finely chopped
- Cucumber- 1/2 cup, finely chopped
- Coriander- 2 tbsp, finely chopped
- Green chilli- 1 , cut into large pieces.
- Salt- to taste
Method
Chop the onions, cucumber, tomatoes, coriander and green chilli.
Mix them up. Add the salt and let stand for 10 minutes before serving, so that all the juices mix well.
This koshimbir (salsa) is delicious eaten with rotis and chicken/ lamb curry. Well, that’s my favourite combination!
