Jhal Muri- a Mustard flavoured evening snack

4’o clock in the evening brings on those hunger pangs. Some are satisfied only by deep fried snacks like samosas, puris and the like. But some of us long for healthy snacks. This recipe from the streets of Calcutta just hits the spot. Try it!


  • Puffed Rice/ Kurmure/ Muri—1 cup
  • Onions, finely chopped—1/4 cup
  • Coriander, finely chopped—2 tbsp
  • Fresh Red/ Green chilli—1
  • Roasted peanuts—2-3 tbsp
  • Mustard oil—1 tsp ( optional)
  • Bombay mixture/ Farsan—2-3 tbsp
  • Salt—to taste
