As we try to go more and more gluten free, protein features heavily on the menu. It’s a constant battle between vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
The other day, we found some pork steaks and with the help of my new OXO Tenderiser, I made a really quick and delicious dinner.
Here’s how.
Ingredients
- Pork steaks- 2
- Dark Soy sauce- 1 tbsp
- Shaoxing Wine- 2 tsp
- Ginger paste- 2 tsp
- Garlic paste- 2 tsp
- Red chilli flakes- 1/2 tsp
- Salt- to taste
- Pepper- to taste
- 5 spice sauce- 1/4 tsp (optional)
Method
Step 1
Mix all the ingredients for the marinade, all except the pork steaks basically, into a small bowl Mix well.
Step 2
Beat the pork steaks or just stamp holes into it, if you too have a nifty little tenderiser like me.
Step 3
Now spread the marinade over the pork and leave aside for around 10- 20 minutes.
Step 4
Heat a frying pan/ skillet and fry the steaks for about 2 minutes on each side.
Serve with rice, potatoes or a nice salad.
Note: This recipe can be easily adapted to chicken.
