The Royal Albert Tea Party

Last Saturday was really special for me.

I had just returned from India after a 6 week long holiday with friends and family and was feeling particularly low.

I happened to get an invite for a tea party from Royal Albert, who were organising a Tea Tour around London. Nothing could have been more welcoming.

The day was bright and sunny and the location, perfect. Spitalfields.

So me and a few  of my blogger friends from Bloggers Buzz met up and what a sight it was.

Pink was in the air with the Spitalfields square dotted with tables and chairs, all decorated in vintage style, keeping with the Royal Albert style of  “quintessentially English”, while supporting the cause of breast cancer care.

There was a beautiful vintage van displaying all the delicate china that Royal Albert is famed for, from the pretty polka sets to the absolutely to-die-for delicately printed roses on the inside cup.

Tea was available in various flavours ranging from the everyday ‘English Breakfast’ and ‘Earl Grey’ to the increasingly popular green tea in flavours like ‘ Mango and Litchi’. They also had some delicious cupcakes.

I was ever so lucky to be gifted a beautiful teacup and saucer, the most delicate china, with polka dots and roses to match.

There also were makeup artists, providing  a vintage makeover, and different props, costumes and accessories to shoot some wacky photos.

We had a wonderful time and indulged in some lovely tea, some really good cupcakes and of course, excellent company.

Apart from tea-lovers, there were some pigeons around as well, who insisted on snooping and kept a few of my friends on the move.

It was great fun. The event excellently organised, the decor lovely and the organisers very welcoming.

Indeed the best of Britain – roses, tea, and china – what more could one want.

Royal Albert is celebrating its teaware range, which is floral and vintage, yet very very modern.

They are organising Tea Tours throughout London offering complimentary tea, cakes and macaroons  in the most adorable china. If you have time, do pop into some of these events, I’m sure you would love it as much as I did.

The next dates in September are:
Thursday 12th and Friday 13th – Bloomsbury Square
Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th – Parsons Green

If you like what you see, you can always buy one of their timeless pieces for yourself and support their noble cause.

And before I forget, a million thanks to the organisers for hosting such a wonderful event, supporting such a brilliant cause and of course, for the lovely goody bag as well!
