What’s in an egg?

An egg tastes like any other, you’d say. But I was pleasantly surprised when I tried these Free Range Eggs from The Black Farmer.

These eggs are eggs laid by  British Freedom Food hens fed on a rich and varied diet and have a really deep golden yolk that tastes scrumptious.

We tried it boiled- it tasted yummy, really flavourful. Check out the deep yellow colour- I kid you not it stays so yellow, it is surprising. Any other egg would’ve looked pale rather than yellow after boiling for 10 minutes. The yolk is large as well.

And then we tried a soft boiled egg- the true test of taste.

We found the yolk to be really flavourful. In fact my husband said- ‘It’s so yum, you don’t even need any salt or pepper.’ All this, while smacking his lips.

The yolks are really tasty, so they will taste brilliant in everything from omelettes to pancakes to a lovely carbonara sauce for pasta.

Like all other Black Farmer products, these eggs too are brilliant. They contain a whopping 12.6 gms of protein so those on a protein rich diet, do shop for these.

They are available at Ocado for £2.15

Thanks to The Black Farmer for sending me these eggs to try out. All views and opinions expressed are my very own.
