Diwali is the Festival of lights. A season of joy and delight that is never quite complete without a pantry full of sweet and savoury  delights.

I spent my childhood looking forward to Diwali, to helping my Mum with making laddoos, karanji and so many other goodies after school. Watching her make it, dabbling with everything and scampering off with a handful or two was our most favourite activity.

Diwali itself meant waking up in the wee hours of the morning for Abhyangasnaan (early morning bath) rushing off to burst crackers with my friends, lovely new clothes and fun. Lots of it.

The other most important thing was filling platefuls of these lovely treats and sharing it with our neighbours. It was fun.

What do you make for Diwali?
