Oxo’s Jar Opener – really saves your wrists
When I was young, I prided myself on my strength, but as I’ve grown older, I’m saddened when I realise that my grip and wrists aren’t nearly as strong as they used to be.
The display of ‘no strength’ is on many mornings when I have to open jars, especially those indispensable jars of Pizza sauce. Mornings are a rush, tens of things to do- get breakfast sorted, everyone fed, lunch packed .. uhh! It’s endless.
And then there might be a morning when there is a sudden demand for Pasta in lunch. And I can’t say no. I never do.
But that’s when I don’t have time to make the sauce from scratch and have to depend on the bottled sauce- which means opening bottles.. with my wrist!

It is a very simple and smartly designed gadget – basically a sturdy handle with a V shaped grip that has metal teeth on one side.
Operating it is extremely simple. .
Hold your hand at an angle, positioning yourself ideally over a table or some such surface and slide the bottle into the V shaped grip. The metal teeth grip the lid as they slide across the rubber base.
One small twist and the cap opens effortlessly. The wide V shaped grip enables opening any sized bottle from small bottles to bigger jars.
