Milk- best for those growing bones
Yes indeed, that’s what I tell my boy. Drink that milk, it’s good for your bones.
When we were young, there used to be a TV advert in India for a product called Complan (The Complete Planned food) that you added in your milk. It showed a boy and a girl jumping up and down and playing , while the jingle said-
He’s a growing boy- look how he’s shooting up!
He’s a growing boy, his clothes are just not keeping up.
And then the kids sang- I’m a Complan boy- I’m a Complan girl.
lilting tunes and happy memories.
At times, I sing this jingle to my son just to make him drink milk.
He loves to drink milk as it is. Needless to say, he is very very particular about how it tastes. So when he tried Arla’s Cravendale milk, he said,
“This is lovely. What’s different about today’s milk? It is much sweeter than my usual milk”
Made me smile. He’s really got good tastebuds you see.
He loved Cravendale milk- it’s a much fuller, fresher taste than regular supermarket milk.
I see the difference in my tea too, it tastes nicer.
Every morning before he goes to school, I pour out a huge mug of milk for him with bread and eggs. That keeps him full till afternoon. A few years ago, he would argue that milk is just something for drinking. But now he realizes, that it does help keeping his hunger at bay while maintaining his bones and teeth.
So now he has his glass of milk in the morning and evening and I’m a Happy Mommy!
So what’s in your cuppa? Are you getting you daily dose of calcium?
