Joe Delucci’s Gelato

Who doesn’t like Icecream? But Gelato, well, it is something else. After my trip to Italy, I only eat Gelato. Period.

So when I was asked whether I would like to try out the new flavour of Joe Delucci’s Gelato that they plan to launch in Tesco, I said yes.

I got a tub of Hazelnut Chocolate flavour to review. The gelato is nice and creamy and flavourful. The hazelnut flavour is quite strong and lingers, so if you don’t like Hazelnut so much, this one might not be for you.  But I love Hazelnut and I love chocolate, so I really liked it.

What I like best is the way it is packed- like a bottle with a screw on lid. Much better than flimsy boxes. Like it.

The gelato clearly does not have too much air in it, like the other brands, and is more dense, so yes, you get much more ice-cream there on your scoop. And yes, it stays soft, which is the best thing about Gelato.

Joe Delucci’s gelato is available in 30 flavours. You can get your own tub at Tesco’s or any other supermarket. It costs £3.99 for a 500 ml tub.
